Puducherry, The Committee opposing the National Entrance and Eligibility Test (NEET) would organise an agitation near the Swadeshi Cotton mills here to press the centre to exempt Puducherry from it.
Mar 29 (UNI) The Committee met Chief Minister V Narayanasamy and apprised him of the implications following which an ordinance was adopted and forwarded to the centre for approval. However, the Centre has not taken any action on the issue so far. He said since, the Puducherry Assembly session will begin tomorrow, all the legislators were requested to press the centre in the house to give assent to the ordinance. Seperate letters in this regard were written to the legislators, Mr Veeramani said. He also said that Speaker Vaithilingam, Opposition leader N Rangasamy, legislators Siva (DMK), Anbazhagan (AIADMK), Jayabal(AINRC), Lakshminarayanan (INC) were approached in person and handed over the letters to them.
