Students hold encephalitis awareness rally

Gorakhpur (U.P.), May 17: School students in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur district took out a rally on Wednesday to spread awareness on encephalitis, also known as 'brain fever'. The mosquito-borne disease is a big health problem in Uttar Pradesh state. Reportedly, over 500 children die every year only in the eastern part of the state due to it. Students from both government and private schools carried banners, placards and raised slogans, while participating in the week-long rally. Reportedly, on the first day only, about 13,000 students, accompanied by district administration officials and teachers, wound their way through the streets took out the rally in various parts of the district.
