Sukhoi-30 fighter jet with two pilots on board has gone missing near China border
Tezpur, May 23 A Sukhoi-30 fighter jet, with two pilots on board, has gone missing one hour after taking off from Tezpur Air Force base at 1030 hours this morning. Air Force sources here said the Sukhoi-30 was on a routine flight and had remained in contact with the control room for an aerial distance of 48 km. Last location of the flight was detected at Dubia, under Gohpur subdivision, of Biswanath district of Assam, at around 1130 hours. Air Force has launched search operations to locate the missing jet, and enlisted help of local authorities in it. Deputy commissioners of Sonitpur and Biswanth districts have alerted all police stations and village headmen in their districts to look out for the missing flight and pass on any information in this regard.(UNI)
