Watch: Widows in Vrindavan joyfully celebrate Holi
Vrindavan (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 28: The celebration of Holi has been a symbol of the triumph of good over evil. The day marks the coming of the season of Spring and is also remembered as a thanksgiving day for a good harvest. The celebrations in the festival include smearing colour on each others faces, and splashing coloured water and later engaging in sweet delicacies. This celebration however, bars widowed women but not in the land which is historically significant for Krishna's 'raas leela' with gopis, Vrindavan. The place is known for breaking the odd tradition that stops widowed women from having a good time. It has continued this year.
