State of Uttarakhand failed to take proper action plan to control virus: NGT
National Green Tribunal observed that the State of Uttarakhand has failed to take proper action to prevent and control the unknown diseases/virus which is taking lives of wildlife of Himalayas. The virus has been affecting eyes of Himalayan Blue Sheep, even leading to their death. NGT observed that in case National Biodiversity Authority and Uttarakhand Wildlife dept failed to file the said action plan within 1 week then the said authorities shall be liable to pay cost of Rs 1 lakh which shall be deducted from the salary of the concerned officer.
