Deepika Padukone’s residential building BeauMonde Towers catches fire, actress safe
Mumbai: BeauMonde Towers in Worli, Mumbai caught fire on Wednesday afternoon. A level-III fire broke out on the 33rd floor of the high-rise and according to latest report it has spread to the floors below. Incidentally, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone also owns a flat in the building. Deepika was not in the 34-storey Beaumonde building in Prabhadevi area, when the fire broke out on the top floor, according to fire department officials and sources close to the actress.
Deepika lives in one floor of the building and has an office in another but both were unaffected by the fire, said the sources close to her.
No one was injured so far in the blaze, which was reported at 2.08pm, fire brigade sources said.
Over 90 people have been safely evacuated from the building even as the fire department personnel were trying to douse the fire, the sources said. Ten fire engines, two quick response vans and five water tankers have been put in service to douse the fire.
