Ready to help Kerala irrespective of politics: PM to actor Mohanlal
New Delhi [India], Sep 22 (ANI): Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has opened up about his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After their September 3 meeting, speculations had started doing the rounds that the 58-year-old might join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Addressing those reports in his latest blog, the actor said, "There were speculative news reports about my meeting with the PM. Being an Indian citizen, if I have permission, I can always meet him. What is surprising is that the PM did not speak a word about politics." Mohanlal added that his meeting with the Prime Minister took place on the actor's request. "I got permission to meet him because I requested for a prior appointment. Surprisingly, he himself came to welcome me. He hugged me saying, 'Mohanlal ji.' He patted on my shoulders thrice. He knew me," wrote the Malayalam film actor. He added that the two talked about Kerala floods, his NGO ViswaSanthi Foundation, among other topics. The Prime Minsiter told Mohanlal that "he is always ready to provide all help for Kerala, irrespective of politics." (ANI)
