Oscar-winning animator Will Vinton passes away

Washington DC, [USA] Oct 5 : Oscar-winning animator, Will Vinton passed away of at the age of 70. The death of the man with a unique waxed moustache was announced by his children Bildren, Jesse and Alex in a Facebook post. Vinton is well known for coining the term 'Claymation'. It was on Thursday that the veteran breathed his last after fighting a 12-year-long battle with multiple myeloma. According to his children's Facebook post, he was the man who had the ability to brighten up a "room with his signature" and used to "laugh until the very end". They added that his work on animation history will continue to inspire creative thinkers and makers. Vinton won an Oscar in for the 1975 animated short film 'Closed Mondays'. He was nominated for other animated films like Rip Van Winkle (1978) and The Creation (1981) to name a few. (ANI)
