Srinagars Dal Lake freezes partially due to decreasing mercury

Srinagar (JandK), Dec 25 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir's (JandK) Srinagar recorded the coldest night in 11 years as the minimum temperature plunged to minus 6.8 degrees Celsius, resulting in partial freezing of the Dal Lake today. The all-time low recorded in the month of December in Srinagar was minus 12.8 degrees Celsius on December 13, 1934.The valley experiences sub-zero temperature. Dal Lake is the second largest lake in the state. Severe cold waves continued in JandK due to decreasing mercury. Dal Lake is an integral for tourism and recreation in Kashmir
