USGS: Earthquake of 6.6 magnitude strikes Vanuatu
Port Vila [Vanuatu], Jan 16 : A seismic tremor estimating 6.6 on the Richter Scale struck the Pacific Ocean off Vanuatu Islands. The shake struck 105 km west-northwest of Sola at around 6:06 pm (UTC) on Tuesday. The quake was arranged at a profundity of 46.9 km, as indicated by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). No tidal wave cautioning has been issued and no setbacks or harm to property has been accounted for up until this point. Vanuatu Islands is arranged on the 'Ring of Fire', a region in the bowl of the Pacific Ocean which is defenseless against continuous seismic tremors and volcanic ejections. Further subtleties in the issue are anticipated.
