ATS arrested 9 youths for alleged links to ISIS in Maharashtra
Mumbai, January 23: Just days ahead of the Republic Day, the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Tuesday detained nine youths in all, five from Mumbra and four from Aurangabad, for alleged links with terror outfit Daesh and ISIS. Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS): Based on reliable information, total 9 youths have been brought for questioning from Aurangabad and Mumbra, Thane district. Inquiries are in progress. Further details will be informed in due course. On receipt of reliable input about a group aligned with proscribed international terrorist organisation ISIS, ATS Maharashtra carried out searches&seizures at 5 different locations in Mumbra, Thane Dist&Aurangabad during the intervening night. Certain chemicals, powder, mobile phones, hard drives SIM cards, acid bottle, sharp knives etc seized during searches. Case registered under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967; further investigation underway.
