Navjot Singh Sidhu sacked from ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ following remarks on Pulwama attack
Archana Puran Singh has confirmed that she has shot 2 episodes for Kapil Sharma's show on 9 & 13 February but she was told that those episodes were shot for temporary replacement of Kapil Sharma as he was busy somewhere else. The episodes are yet to be telecast. Archana Puran Singh has not been approached yet by anyone as the permanent replacement of Navjot Singh Sidhu, she says that she will think if she is approached. Punjab Cabinet minister and comedian Navjot Singh Sidhu has been asked to leave 'The Kapil Sharma Show' following his comments on the Pulwama terror attack. The move comes after Sidhu's comments on the attack received major flak. Reacting to the attack, one of the deadliest in Jammu and Kashmir, Sidhu had commented, “For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished.” Fans threatened to boycott the show if Sidhu was not fired. The hashtag #BoycottSidhu also started trending on Twitter soon after his comments. According to a Times Now report, the channel is in talks with the production house and wants Sidhu to be replaced with immediate effect. “The channel has told the production house to sack Sidhu. It’s not a temporary thing. They are going to get him out. In fact, even in the past, during the #MeToo movement, when there were allegations against Anu Malik, the channel took a stand. The channel has shot a couple of episodes with Archana Puran Singh,” a source told Times Now.
